Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) Training Center and the International Center for Transitional Justice will organize a short course on International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice, which is taking place from the 7 - 12 November 2011, at AJAR Training Center in Bali, Indonesia.
The course will be attended by experts, researchers and university professors specializing in the international law, human rights, and political studies. The short course will bring together practitioners, researchers and people working with National and International Institutions and NGOs for the five day course which aims to improve the participants skills and expertise on international criminal law and transitional justice. The specific aims of this course are:
- To clarify terms, definitions and key concepts of human rights and transitional justice in Indonesia;
- To examine the victims approach and gender dimension in transitional justice and violations human rights during conflict and its transformation into peace;
- To share experiences and lessons learned about transitional justice in other countries (Timor Leste, Nepal, Solomon island, Latin America, Africa)
- To create networks of people involved in transitional justice in Indonesia and other countries.

Programme Cost
Programme cost, which includes tuition, training materials, accommodation, refreshments and all meals, is IDR 2,500,000. Partial Scholarship is available for selected participants.
