AJAR’s board members include persons with decades of experience combining work that empowers grassroots communites and policy advocacy. Board members include:
- Ifdhal Kasim, human rights lawyer and the chairman of National Human Rights Commission
- Isna Marifa Sjadzali, environmentalist
- John Campbell-Nelson, educator, religious and community leader.
- Leo Kleden, educator and community leader from East Nusa Tenggara
- Zandra Mambrasar, human rights lawyer from Papua
- Putu Oka Sukanta, writer and social activist
- Galuh Wandita, human rights worker and trainer
- Taty Krisnawati, gender expert and human rights trainer
- I Ketut Gede Artika, Community Leader from Bali
- Prihatin Asmidy, business manager and activist
- Patrick Burgess, human rights lawyer
AJAR's executive body is run by Atikah Nuraini, who was a senior trainer and information specialist at The National Human Rights Commission. She is supported by Dewi Yuri, an educator with experience working in Aceh, Papua, and with the Women’s Commission; and Karen Campbell- Nelson, a volunteer dedicated to our resource center and citizen’s documentation project. They are assisted by Ni Made Sri Utarini (Angel).
